Performing and Non-performing participants who are invited to participate in a DCINY event are reminded that they have the freedom to make their own travel arrangements. Individuals and groups may work with their own travel professional or make their own hotel and travel arrangements. School groups, churches, and community organizations that are recognized as a tax-exempt organization 501c3 may receive tax exemption from the State of New York. By dealing directly with the hotel, these groups are exempt from paying the New York State sales tax (8.5%) and the New York City hotel occupancy tax (13.25%) on their lodging.
