Stephen B. ParkerStephen B. Parker From 1979-2007, Stephen Parker, Associate Professor Emeritus, served as Director of Choral Activities and head of the voice department at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD.  He has been in demand as an honor choir conductor and has served as conductor/clinician/adjudicator in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New York, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming.  He sang for ten years in the professional Oregon Bach Festival Chorus in Eugene, OR, where he was called on to sing solo parts from the chorus. The chorus performed at the Hollywood Bowl and was a headliner for the American Choral Directors National Convention in Phoenix, AZ in 1991.  Steve has been very active in ACDA, serving as state president in Missouri and South Dakota, and North Central Division president from 1988-90.  He was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award by SD-ACDA in 1996.  Steve's Concert Choir and Chamber Singers toured Austria, Germany and Italy in May 2007, their ninth European concert tour.  He has his BS Ed in music from Southeast Missouri State, his MME degree from Wichita State, and has done extensive work toward a DMA at the University of Colorado.
