FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY) proudly presents pianist and composer David Templeton in a solo recital on Saturday, October 8 at 8:00pm at Weill Recital Hall, part of the company's Distinguished Artist Series. Called "one of the most accomplished and original new talents to hit the keyboards" (The New Yorker), Templeton brings to the stage a passion for performance that is vibrant, rich and satisfying. The concert coincides with the release of Templeton's sixth CD, Radiance, featuring 11 original solo piano and two original solo guitar compositions.
David Templeton began composing at the piano at the age of three, continuing on to master numerous other instruments including cello, violin and guitar, which he now weaves together into a rich tapestry of orchestrations on his acclaimed recordings. Based on Puget Sound, near Seattle, Templeton is inspired by the ocean and beach near his home, as well as by his beloved 92-key Bosendorfer piano. Templeton's previous recordings include The Crossing, featuring solo guitar, piano and a full symphony score, Promise, nominated for "Recording of the Year" by the Northwest Area Music Association, and the ethereal Change, on which he plays all the instruments including guitar, violin, piano, keyboards and percussion. Templeton has performed on the stages of Carnegie Hall and Seattle's Benaroya Hall as well as for audiences in Italy and Mexico.
