More on the Performances
|
Maestro Phil Mattson will lead the combined choir in several selections throughout the evening including I'm Glad There Is You, Stella by Starlight and Grown Up Christmas List. The concert will begin with a featured performance by the Valencia Vikings Choir, directed by Christine Tavares. Participating choirs will also perform separately, providing a lively variety and unique window into the world of Vocal Jazz. They will perform arrangements of works from the likes of Thelonious Monk, Duke Ellington, Burt Bacharach, and even J.S. Bach. All of the choirs from around the country will present an inspired night of entertainment, with these uncommon jazz versions of pieces both classic and contemporary.
