Exuberant Chamber Music at
Carnegie Hall
|
As part of the Distinguished Concerts International New York's Artist Series, Dr. Susan Boettger will present a performance of chamber music at Weill Recital Hall on April 11, 2010. The participating ensembles are the most advanced groups from Dr. Boettger's Junior Chamber Music Program, a four-year training experience for small ensembles of varying composition, which includes masterclasses, individual instruction, and numerous performance opportunities. Pieces to be performed include works by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Schumann and Brahms. |
More About the "Junior Chamber Music Program"
|
Students audition in the fall each year, and JCM matches them into small ensemble teams (2-5 players) according to level, age, and location. The program is open to instrumentalists (string, piano, woodwind, brass, harp, guitar, percussion) and vocalists, age 9-20, and levels range from intermediate to very advanced. Students later meet their teams and learn about the numerous opportunities available. Along with a JCM coordinator, teams develop a rehearsal and coaching schedule to reach the goals of the team. Students perform in a variety of performances from March - May each year. |
