Park Avenue Chamber Symphony (NY), conducted by David Bernard, will perform Dvorak's Symphony No. 7 at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center, April 19, 8:00 PM. They will then accompany The Kentucky Christian University Concert Choir and Chorale and the East Carter High School Choir (KY), both under the direction of Mark Deakins, for an all-gospel program, featuring samples of the many divergent styles of gospel music. Also appearing will be soloists Amanda Gorman, Andrea Clemens, Mark Condon, and Marvin Matthews.

Park Avenue Chamber Symphony
Founded in 1999 and now recognized as New York's premier non-professional orchestra, the critically acclaimed Park Avenue Chamber Symphony (PACS) has performed frequently in New York City's major concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, and Alice Tully Hall. PACS performances have been broadcast on WQXR radio, and have been covered by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Daily News.

PACS members, many trained at highly regarded conservatories, include investment bankers, business executives, music teachers, architects, freelance journalists, computer consultants, graphic designers, engineers, college and conservatory professors, social workers, physicians, lawyers, officials in City and State government agencies and various non-profit agencies.

The Park Avenue Chamber Symphony has raised over $300,000 for not-for-profit and music education organizations in the New York City Area, including the establishment of The Juilliard School Pre-College Division Parent's Association Endowed Scholarship Fund, the first of its kind at Juilliard for Pre-College students. Most recently, PACS raised $13,000 for the Harmony Program through a gala concert featuring Whoopi Goldberg as narrator in Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf."

Kentucky Christian University Concert Choir
The Kentucky Christian University Concert Choir is an auditioned mixed chorus comprised of music majors and students from other disciplines. The choir has performed six concerts in Carnegie Hall under the baton of John Rutter, Jonathan Wilcocks, and their conductor, Mark Deakins, Dean of the School of Music.

The choir has performed with the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, the Louisville Orchestra, and the Kiev Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. In April 2004, the choir performed at the International Choral Festival (Corhabana) in Havana, Cuba.

East Carter High School
The East Carter High School Concert Choir is an auditioned mixed chorus, under the direction of Mark Deakins, Dean of the School of Music at Kentucky Christian University. The choir received superior ratings at the National Choral Festival in 2006 and 2007 and a superior rating at the National Adjudicators Invitational (NAI) in 2008. Receiving the highest score of all choirs, bands, and orchestras at the NAI, the ECHS Concert Choir also received the Board of Directors award. The choir began with 13 members in 1998 and now is comprised of 74 members. This is the choir's first appearance in New York City and their first all-gospel concert.
