The University of California at Santa Cruz Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Robert Klevan; the Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps Symphonic Band, under the direction of Brian Worsdale; and the North Brunswick Township High School Orchestra, under the direction of Jeffrey Bradbury, will perform at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium, Perelman Stage, February 15, at 8:30 PM. This exciting evening will feature music ranging from J.S. Bach (Concerto for Two Violins in D minor, BWV 1043) to Jeff Beal (Concerto for Clarinet/Soprano Saxophone).

Dr. Robert B. Klevan, now serving in his sixth full year as Jazz Education Director for the Monterey Jazz Festival, and named CMEA Educator of the Year in 1992, will lead the UCSC Wind Ensemble in a cutting-edge program of music for winds, consisting of works by Rex Mitchell (Introduction and Fantasia), Walter S. Hartley (Hallelujah Fantasy), and Jeff Beal (Concerto for Clarinet/Soprano Saxophone). The soloist in this last will be Paul Contos.

The Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps Symphonic Band has appeared onstage with such celebrated performers as Harvey Fierstein and Rita Moreno. Celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year, the LGBACSB, conducted by Brian Worsdale, will present music by Richard Wagner (Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral), Leonard Bernstein (Overture to Candide), Frank Ticheli (Wild Nights), Leroy Anderson (The Typewriter), and Steven Reineke (Pilatus).

And finally, the 70-piece The North Brunswick Township High School Orchestra, which recently made its Lincoln Center debut, will be appearing with Director Jeffrey Bradbury at the podium. They will offer compositions of J. S. Bach (Concerto for Two Violins in D minor, BWV 1043), George Frideric Handel (Concerto Grosso, Op. 6, No. 1, HWV 319), William Hofeldt (Sonata for Strings), and Jean Sibelius (Andante Festivo).
