Mark Deakins, Guest Conductor
After months of rehearsals, arriving in New York, and performing in Lincoln Center, one of the first things that comes to mind is that it went too fast!
From the first meeting with Iris and Jonathan to the incredibly phenomenal meal at Rosie O'Grady's after the concert, everything with DCINY was first class. The staff at DCINY were wonderful -- on the phone and in person! They made the students and I feel at ease in every aspect of the preparation for the concert and the concert itself. Every detail was covered!
The concert was, in a word, exceptional! This is a concert the students will remember for a lifetime. We had waited a long time to perform gospel music in New York and DCINY made it happen! It was a joy working with David Bernard and the Park Avenue Chamber Symphony. Avery Fisher Hall is an absolutely amazing space for performance! It would be a pleasure to work with Iris and the staff at DCINY again!
