Cole Valley Christian School Concert Choir (ID)

The Cole Valley Christian School Concert Choir is comprised of students in grades ten through twelve who have a passion for singing literature representing all time periods in music history, including multi-cultural music and spirituals. The Choir performs for school concerts, chapels, and community activities In Meridian and Boise, Idaho. The choir travels to Seattle, Washington every year for the annual Associated Christian Schools International musicale and festival, to take part in a 600-voice massed choir and to compete in choir, large and small ensemble, and solo categories. For the past five years the choir members have been awarded trophies and honors in several categories of competition.

Claudia Sutherland, Director, has taught music and choirs at Cole Valley Christian Schools for the past six years. Prior to that she taught public school music and choirs in Worland, Wyoming for 16 years and for two years taught music fundamentals and choir at Williston State College in Williston, North Dakota.

Ms. Sutherland attended Northwest Christian College in Eugene, Oregon with a major emphasis in voice and sacred music and earned her Bachelor of Music Education at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. Several universities in the West have provided Ms. Sutherland with graduate level studies in music education, choral music, voice and voice care.

At Cole Valley Christian Ms. Sutherland directs the Concert Choir, Mixed Intermediate Choir, and Jazz Choir, and teaches junior high school world drumming, general music classes, and junior high choir. She has directed children's, community, and church choirs and teaches private voice lessons in Boise, Idaho.

Tacoma Baptist High School Choir (WA) 

The Tacoma Baptist High School Choir performs regularly at several venues in the Tacoma area and has been selected for top honors at the Northwest Regional ACSI Choral Festival three of the past four years. They are honored to have been invited to sing under the direction of Dr. Melton and are grateful to their parents, choir alumni, and supporters back home.

Christine Lutterloh, Director, has taught junior and senior high choral music at Tacoma Baptist Schools since 2002, and she directed the honor choir at the Northwest Regional ACSI Choral Festival in 2008. She has been singing in choirs since elementary school, most recently in the Tacoma Symphony Chorus and Pacific Lutheran University Choral Union. Christine has been an active church musician for most of her life, either as vocalist or accompanist, and has taught private piano lessons since 1993. She sharpens her skills attending American Choral Director's Association conferences. Christine and her husband, John, live in Puyallup, Washington, with their five sons.

Vanguard University Concert Choir (CA)

The 90-member Vanguard University Concert Choir has presented classical, sacred, secular, and contemporary concerts in major concert halls, schools, churches, conferences and conventions throughout the United States. Past concert tours outside of the U.S. have included China, Mexico, Europe, the South Pacific, South Korea, Japan, and Canada. In 2002, 2005, and 2008, the students were invited to tour the People's Republic of China, where they performed in major concert halls, arenas, universities, and schools.

The Vanguard University music ensembles have long been noted for their inspiring and excellent presentation of sacred vocal and instrumental music, including classical, sacred, and secular hits from theatre and film. Under the baton of Dr. James Melton, the Concert Choir was featured in solo performance at Carnegie Hall in May of 2001, 2003, and 2006.

The University Concert Choir is yearly featured on the Crystal Cathedral's Hour of Power national and international television broadcasts and also has 10 recording projects to their credit.

Vanguard University Women's Chorus (CA)

The Women's Chorus of Vanguard University in Southern California is a select ensemble of 53 singers and instrumentalists sponsored by the Department of Music at Vanguard University--25 of whom appear in this performance at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. This group, under the direction of Joni Y. Fukuda, has presented classical, sacred, secular, and contemporary concerts in major concert halls, schools, churches, conferences and conventions throughout California and the Western United States.
