What People Said about our Opening Concert!
Carole Ann Maxwell, The Mendelssohn Choir of Connecticut
Our singers raved about their time spent in rehearsals with you,
and of course about the performance itself. We felt indeed privileged to
perform the Stabat Mater as it was intended, chorus, orchestra and
soloists, and the composer in residence.
My congratulations to you and your wonderful staff. I wish you
continued success in all your up-coming musical adventures.
Students at PS 199
"Oh, what a treat! I am simply speechless about how special today was." - Mia Spolan
"Thank you so much! ...so fun, beautiful music and so fascinating
to see how it all comes together! Please invite us/me again. Loved being
there." - Liat Hod
"Absolutely exhilarating!" - Danielle Rosen
"...it was like being in heaven ...and the chorus were the angels ...." - Dana Grant
"Wow. I didn't know music could do that" - Quinn Cembrinski
"When can we go again?" - Adi Anker
Ramaswamy Mohan, Narrator,
The Hindu Temple Society of North America
Thank you for such excellent hospitality that you all extended to
us and for the opportunity you gave us to chant sections of our Sacred
and Revered Scripture, The Bhagavad Gita. We at the Hindu Temple Society
of North America also hope to consistently collaborate on events like
this one which provides meaningful and wholesome experience for us.

Heather Davis, DCINY Production Team
The opening concert of DCINY's 4th season went off beautifully!
That success was due in part because of DCINY's great 2011 Production
Staff. Everyone worked extremely hard, with long hours backstage to
accommodate a large number of performers. We have a very talented and
dedicated team, so we like introducing them to our fans.
One of our returning staff members is Heather Davis, currently in
her second season working at DCINY and an integral asset to our team.
Heather received her Master of Music from the Peabody Conservatory of
Music and her Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music. Her
repertoire spans several centuries, and includes chamber music, art
song, oratorio, and opera. Respected for her interpretations of New
Music, Heather sang the world premiere of Echo Moped by Eastman composer
Matthew Barnson, and appeared by special invitation as soprano soloist
in Bernard Rands' Canti Lunatici with the Eastman Musica Nova under the
direction of Brad Lubman. In addition, Heather has performed as a
soloist for the Brooklyn Philharmonic and AZ Musicfest, and made her
Kennedy Center recital debut in 2004. Heather has performed the roles
of Gertrude in Hansel and Gretel, the Mother in Amahl and the Night
Visitors, and Emily in Help, the Globolinks! with Opera Theatre of
Weston, Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream with Eastman Opera Theatre,
as well as Suor Genovieffa in Suor Angelica, and Lauretta in Gianni
Schicchi in Italy.
Thanks for all that you do Heather, and thanks to the entire Production Team at DCINY as well!

Run for the Wild with DCINY
On April 30th, DCINY is going to participate in the Wildlife Conservation Society's Run for the Wild, a 5K run/walk at the Bronx Zoo. This event is dedicated to saving penguins, which are increasingly treading on thin ice. Support our team and
run with DCINY! All registrants will receive complimentary admission to
the Bronx Zoo on run day. Our goal is to reach $500. All funds we
raise will go toward the Wildlife Conservation Society's projects to
protect imperiled penguins and the places they call home. Join the DCINY Team!
