What People Said

Bari Goltzman, Director, Kew Gardens Community Center, New York
Thank you for Carmina Burana, on June 14, 2008. The members of our community center truly enjoyed the performance. One of the members said; He "is never going to see another performance of Carmina Burana again, as none could equal this one, by Distinguished Concerts International."

Anibal Hernandez M. Gemzel, New York
Quotes from Time Disappearing and Spirit Remaining

...a wedding mass followed by profane songs where the eroticism is a key factor. The artistic director really played the game with courage...

... Powell's Mass in C major No. 1 (Wedding Mass) is a challenge to the traditional joining the contemporary choral expression to the academic heritage of medieval times...

...Cortes reached the level described by Orff: "The time element disappears, and only the spiritual element remains". All the mystery was brilliantly manifested with concentration and passion... read full text

The memory of going to NYC will live with me until I grow old. It was a very special experience for me and I have heard from the members of OR that people are overall very happy with their concert tour, especially the Carnegie Hall concert. We never expected to get so much applause from the audience. The dinner and party was great and it was difficult to fall asleep that night (or morning) after all this excitement. Thank you for that Iris.
I want to send my best wishes to Johanna and Peter and of course everyone else in your staff that I haven't been in direct contact with. Thanks to them for everything they did.
Larry Hayes, Sundance Outdoor Adventure Society

I expected the Carmina Burana to be a knockout, but the Powell Wedding Mass took me by surprise. I hope to hear more from Mr. Powell.

Members of our group have been sending thank you emails and calls. Each was quite impressed.

What a great evening!
