New York - On Monday evening, May 26, 2008, the Harmony Music Makers Steel Orchestra out of Brooklyn met on the stage at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall as part of the program offered by Distinguished Concerts International New York. The show was titled: Global Spirit: Music of Many Cultures.

From Members of the Harmony Music Makers Steel Orchestra

The pride and joy I felt seeing our children so confident and happy about the experience of being in and performing in the Lincoln Center, Avery Fisher Hall is immeasurable. It was one of the best days of my life. I know our children will treasure that memory also.
– Kinshasha Bharath, Co-Owner

Music is a language that's universal and that day we spoke volumes. It was a blessing to watch the kids step up to the plate. I explained to them that it was an opportunity of a lifetime to be playing at Lincoln Center, Avery Fisher Hall. I was touched, because our kids love our music and culture as much as I do, and it was exciting to see that the audience and staff alike enjoyed the music of Harmony.
– Michael Joseph, Co-Owner & Band Leader

Performing in the same building as Wynton Marsalis was a blessing. It was a great moment for me especially learning that Harmony was one of the few steel band orchestras' that has ever played at Lincoln Center, Avery Fisher Hall. I'm truly appreciative of the opportunity. The greatest gift of the evening was that my fellow band members get to perform out of their box and learn to perform for a different audience. I hope we could get the opportunity to play again.
– Dionne Norton, Six Bass (Captain)

It was a good experience and I loved it. We were treated so well despite the fact that we were of a different culture.
–Kedric Hemius, Tenor

It was an honor to be at Avery Fisher Hall and to perform on the stage knowing that many other famous musicians also performed there
– Furness Norton, Tenor
