Patricia Dobiesz, Coordinator of the Pianist Program at OCHSA, received her M. A. degree in musicology. Her thesis on Richard Strauss's "Metamorphosen" is recognized by renowned biographers and musicologists for its elucidation of previously unknown historical facts about the piece and about the composer. She was a piano student of Julien Musafia, himself a former student of Isabelle Vengerova and Rosina Levine, for many years. After completing Bachelors in Piano Performance and Science, Ms. Dobiesz earned an M.D. degree at UCLA and worked for two years as a general practitioner before leaving medicine to return to music full time.
