Johns Creek United Methodist Church Chancel Choir (GA)
The Chancel Choir of Johns Creek United Methodist Church sings for
worship at 11 a.m. every Sunday. The choir is comprised of volunteer
singers who rehearse each week. In addition to singing for Sunday
worship, the choir presents an annual Christmas concert. They
participate in the North Georgia UMC festival choir and have sung for
the Annual Conference of the North Georgia United Methodist Church.
Rev. Beth Brown Shugart currently serves as the Pastor of
Worship and Minister of Music at Johns Creek United Methodist Church in
Johns Creek, GA. She has degrees from Belmont University, the
University of Tennessee and Emory University. For thirteen years, she
taught high school choral music. Rev. Shugart has sung with the Atlanta
Symphony Orchestra Chorus, served as president of Choristers Guild and
is actively involved in the American Choral Directors Association.

Savannah Country Day Concert Choir (GA)
The Savannah Country Day Concert Choir has concertized in the south
and northeast (Carnegie Hall) as well as Santa Fe, New Mexico. An
eight-concert tour of Spain and France was followed by an invitation to
sing for Desmond Tutu on his trip to the states from South Africa and
for President Bush and Queen Elizabeth for the founding of Jamestown.
The choir has premiered song cycles by H.T. Duesberg on the poetry of
Emily Dickinson and Walt Whitman and premiered a cantata last December,
for voices, harp, oboe and organ. They closed the season with Brahms'
Requiem.
Maaja Roos has had an extensive career both as a pianist and
choral conductor. Born in Berlin of Estonian heritage she was exposed to
a rich international choral repertoire, particularly the music of
Estonia. Her SIPA Choir of Columbia University premiered works at
Lincoln Center by composers, Arvo Pärt, Veljo Tormis, and
H.Tobias-Duesberg. Prior to Savannah, Ms. Roos was on the faculty of
Columbia University, the Nightingale-Bamford School (winning the highest
prize at the International Choral Festival in Rome), the Brearley
School, the Waterford School in Salt Lake City, the Waldsrode School in
Hannover, Germany, and the St. Paul's Girls School, London.

Shanghai Voices International Choir (China)
The Shanghai Voices International Choir is the first choir of its
kind in Shanghai, established in 2000, is the expat choir with the
longest run in Shanghai. It performed in the main venues for classical
Music in Shanghai e.g.The Shanghai Oriental Art Center. Initially a
small ensemble of 6 people, we now boast more than 45 members from 15
different countries, and tackle pieces in many different styles and
languages and from diverse cultures. Shanghai Voices' repertoire
includes China's premier performance of Vivaldi's Gloria, Britten's
Ceremony of Carols and Brahms' Gypsy Songs. Also, the first zarzuela
(Spanish Opera) to be performed in China (in Spanish with Chinese
subtitles) Jacinto Guerrero's La Rosa del Azafran.
Hernan Castro (Ecuador 1974) He started his music studies at
the age 6, in the National Conservatory of Music in Quito, Ecuador's
capital. He studied piano and vocal music, reaching his bachelor degree
in singing, voice coaching and choir conducting. He started choir
conducting at the age of 19, during his academic years, and was Chief
conductor of the Conservatory Choir and Orchestra the year he graduate.
He won the National Festival for Children's Choirs in 1994 and 1995, and
traveled to Japan to represent Latin America in the Peace Festival in
Hiroshima 1997.

Utah Voices (UT)
Utah Voices is an inclusive and vibrant voluntary organization in
which rehearsals are never dull, concerts never boring. Embarking on a
third season, they have performed by invitation for Utah Governor Gary
Herbert, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Days of '47 Sunrise Service
at the famed Mormon Tabernacle, and perform four or more concerts
annually. The non-auditioned choir varies in musical skill and is made
up of a range of twenty-somethings to senior citizens with all sorts of
career backgrounds. Utah Voices serves Utah communities by offering
entertaining and inspiring performances of the greatest music from all
available sources.
As artistic director of Utah Voices, Michael Huff is a
visiting professor and director of special programs at Utah State
University where he also leads the Women's Choir and teaches. For over
ten years, he was associate conductor and principal accompanist for the
Utah Symphony Chorus and has led orchestras and bands in all genres.
The artistic director of Heritage Festivals' Festival of GoldTM
Series, he has also produced and directed the Liberty Bowl Halftime
Finale in Memphis since 1989. He received music degrees from the
University of Utah and Arizona State University. He and his wife are
the parents of six children.
