Piano and Guitar
Pianist and composer David Templeton brings to the stage a passion of performance that is vibrant, rich and satisfying. The New Yorker calls him "One of the most accomplished and original new talents to hit the keyboards... thoroughly enjoyable."
David began composing on piano at the young age of three and then went on to master numerous other instruments including cello, violin and guitar, which he weaves into a rich tapestry of orchestrations and multi-track compositions on his many recordings. The Northwest Area Music Association (NAMA) nominated his second album "Promise", for Recording of the Year.
Templeton's debut album "Time Alone" caught the attention of nationally syndicated radio host Delilah (Premier Radio Networks) of whom she says, "I don't recall ever being so impressed by one artist's talents. His music is more than simply music, it is the expression of heart-felt emotions."
Graduating from the University of Washington he received a double major in Commercial Music Production and Speech Communication where he studied guitar performance under the direction of Bill Smith of the Dave Brubeck quartet. Using his University training as a sound engineer, Templeton built a full recording studio in his home where he records on one of the world's most beautiful sounding pianos, the nine-foot concert grand Bosendorfer. He continued his studies at the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring School under the direction of Emmy-Award winning composer, Hummie Mann.
David Templeton has performed from the stages of New York's Carnegie Hall to Seattle's Benaroya Hall as well as internationally to audiences in Italy and Mexico. Mr. Templeton records on Mason Ridge Records.
