Bradley Ellingboe has been on the faculty of the University of New Mexico since 1985, where he is Professor of Music and Regents Lecturer. From 1991 - 2005 Ellingboe was Head of Vocal Studies. In the fall of 2005 he assumed the title of Director of Choral Activities. Ellingboe is a graduate of Saint Olaf College and the Eastman School of Music and has done further study at the Aspen Music Festival, the Bach Aria Festival, the University of Oslo and the Vatican.

As a bass-baritone soloist, Ellingboe has sung across the United States and in Japan, Korea, Norway, England and Mexico. He has appeared under such distinguished conductors as Robert Shaw, Helmuth Rilling and Sir David Willcocks.

Professor Ellingboe is the editor of two books of songs by the Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg which have been widely hailed as significant additions to the understanding of Grieg's music. For his efforts on behalf of Norwegian music, Ellingboe was knighted by His Majesty King Harald V of Norway.
