Thank you again for the splendid experience you gave the JETHS choir and chaperones at Carnegie Hall. We all returned safely home yesterday and every single person was flying high over the previous night's concert experience and post-concert reception.

The concert was wonderful, I was so pleased! Jorge, your concertmaster, is a fine player and a great collaborator and the orchestra was superb, responsive and sensitive in every way. The soloists were terrific and so much fun to work with. The organization has seasoned beautifully into a first-rate concert producer and I'm proud to be associated with you.

We appreciate all you did to make our concert event a great success. You are a wonderful team at DCINY and I wish you the best in the future. Every detail was magnificent!

We have done much reflection on the experience, as a group and individually, and I cannot sufficiently articulate the impact of the evening on our lives. Professionally, it serves as a significant marker in my career, and I am grateful for that opportunity.

Your graciousness, warmth, and sincerity have always made me feel perfectly at ease. People respond to excellence, sincerity, and kindness, and DCINY will be successful because you demonstrate those characteristics. I look forward to future collaboration.

Thank you for the opportunity to sing with DCINY this past week! I felt the Haydn was so well sung, played and conducted. I also want to tell you that I was extremely impressed with DCINY. Every challenge--whether large or small--was met with such professionalism by you and your staff. Your hard work behind the scene was what made it possible for the artists on stage to do their best work. At every turn, I was greeted and helped by [DCINY staff]...it was simply a delight! Thanks again and my best wishes to you for your remaining concerts this season!

I just wanted to drop you a note to say I was at the concert last night at Carnegie Hall featuring works by Haydn and Rene Clausen. It was wonderful. I really enjoyed it, and will continue pushing kids to attend.

Congratulations on running such a wonderful program. It is a pleasure to have you as a partner in education.

Thank you so much for another wonderful DCINY experience! It was my daughter Kate's birthday yesterday. What a treat it was for her to see her Dad perform at Carnegie Hall on her 7th birthday! Thank you for that. You made me look like a pretty cool dad!

It is a privilege for me to be a part of the DCINY family. Thank you again!

Mark Watson
Soloist

I just wanted to thank you all of you at DCINY and to tell you all how impressed I was with the way you handled every aspect of the concert at Avery Fisher Hall last week.

Everything was done in an extremely efficient way that always seemed calm, organized and gracious. I watched in amazement as you easily moved large groups of people from one area to the next like a giant ballet.

Any question I had was answered in a timely fashion whether by phone or email. The rehearsals were, to my mind, a model of professionalism. Jonathan's way with the chorus, orchestra and soloists was exemplary. He knew what he wanted but more importantly he has the experience and talent to explain it.

Everyone I encountered on the staff was friendly, supportive and helpful. That doesn't happen unless someone at the top is setting an example. The whole experience from the first phone call to the party afterwards was a pleasure.

It was top-notch all the way.

Thanks for the terrific experience.

DCINY Orchestra Member

I continue to be impressed with the quality of performances from DCINY. The orchestra is of the highest caliber in that the musicians listen to one other and play more than just the notes. It really is a cohesive unit working together and it is inspiring for the musicians, for the choir members as well as the audience. It is rare gift to perform in Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall, especially to a full and enthusiastic audience and DCINY provides that opportunity. With the mentorship of Iris Derke and Jonathan Griffith's artistic vision, DCINY will continue to flourish.

This past weekend, we performed several of Karl Jenkins's works in Avery Fisher Hall. The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace was particularly memorable because of the message of the music. The musicians were able to portray the struggles for peace but also how beautiful and tranquil life can be during peaceful times. On Tuesday's concert, we performed Haydn's Lord Nelson's Mass. Haydn's talent was clearly showcased by the virtuosic singing and string playing. Rene Clausen's piece Memorial is a tribute to the victims from 9/11. It is always an honor to pay tribute to the men and women who lost their lives that day. Clausen was able to convey the trials and tribulations of that day through his music and as the dust settled, venture into a new beginning of hope.

I always enjoy performing with DCINY because it gives me the chance to work with musicians that I admire greatly both as artists and people. After Monday's performance I had a long discussion with someone from Mississippi who saw the awestruck expressions of the choir members the first time they heard the orchestra and he said to them, "That's right guys, that's what music sounds like!"
