Proudly Announces Plans for 2010
Distinguished
Concerts International New York is putting together an exciting and adventurous
season of concerts at New York's most prestigious venues, including Carnegie
Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, and Alice Tully Hall.
The season
will be spiced up by numerous premieres and debuts, including the New York
Premiere of Bob Chilcott's newest work, Requiem. The concert, scheduled for
early spring 2010, will also feature Mr. Chilcott making his debut with DCINY
as the conductor of music for children, including some of his own compositions.
In addition to leading Requiem, Mr. Chilcott will conduct music for children's
choirs.
Returning
guest conductors include Richard
Weymuth, Hank Dahlman, and Timothy Seelig.
Other invited guest conductors are Lynn Gackle, Vance George, Donald Kendrick, James Meaders,
Milburn Price, Russell Robinson, and Timothy Sharp. Robert Demaree, who has
been selected to participate in DCINY's Emerging Conductors Program, will make
his New York conducting debut.
In what is
becoming a DCINY tradition, Jonathan Griffith, DCINY's Artistic Director, will
conduct Karl Jenkins ' The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace in
January 2010 in a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Orchestra International and Distinguished Concerts Singers International, the
latter comprised of choirs from the U.S. and abroad, in Karl Jenkins' "The Armed
