Richard Kusk, retired from public school teaching, received his undergraduate degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and his Master of Music Education degree from the University of Illinois.
He was inducted into the Colorado Music Educator's Hall of Fame and the Colorado Bandmaster's Hall of Fame. He teaches private trumpet lessons, conducts two performing ensembles with the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony Association, judges, and works with local bands. Since 1986, he has taken over 3000 of Colorado's finest musicians on European musical tours with the Colorado Ambassadors of Music.
He has been married to his wife Mary Lu since 1965.
