I attended the Eric Whitacre Concert August 7, 2009 at the Disney Hall in Los Angeles, CA. I have had a lifetime of exposure to concert music and actually have joined numerous other choral groups performing classical music in several states including New York at Carnegie Hall. The Eric Whitacre concert was one of the most riveting performances I have ever experienced. To have that many performers sing acapella and sing as "ONE" was incredible. The audience sat absolutely spellbound when they sang and during any gaps, it was so quiet, you could hear a pin drop. There were several curtain calls! No one wanted it to end! Just to see so many young people looking like they had it all together was inspiring. Together with the control, volume, and quality of sound of their performance made it an unforgettable experience.
