What People Said...
Gordon Brock, Director
Allow
me to take a moment to respond to our recent concert performance at Carnegie
Hall this past weekend. It truly was a profoundly moving experience for all of
our students, faculty, alumni and friends. Every member of our department and
institutional governance contributed to the success of this performance, and we
couldn't be more proud of who we are and what the University of North Florida
represents.
As
I expressed to our performers, you can only achieve something for the first
time, once, and it was critical that their initial experience in this renowned
venue be both positive and enduring. To that end, you and your colleagues at
Distinguished Concerts International New York were major contributors. Your
professional demeanor in all aspects of the steps leading up to, and including
the performance were most gratifying. The post-concert reception was a
wonderful opportunity for reflection and collective bonding, and I know that
all in attendance enjoyed the camaraderie and good fellowship.
We
appreciate the kind words and musical observations regarding our performance
and look forward to receiving the posters, photos and recording. DCINY really
made it a special affair and please extend our sincere gratitude to Jonathan,
Peter, et al and we would like to
offer our unqualified recommendation to other ensembles to strongly consider
your agency and participation in your Excellence
in Education concert series in the Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at
Carnegie Hall.
It
is my understanding that you would like us to return at some future date and we
are committed to making that happen.
